Our Mission

Vision Community Development, Inc will provide counseling, mentorship, and rehabilitation services for at-risk youth and their parents who have been incarcerated or are currently at or below the poverty line. Youth will be equipped for social and academic success with mentorship through personal development and self-esteem courses. Adults will be rehabilitated through employment skills training, financial success seminars, and parenting classes.

Our Goals & Objectives

Vision Community Development, Inc. will partner with organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Department of Human Services, Christian Services, local churches, local law-enforcement, and other community leaders. We will provide academic and social needs for youth. Employment skills, financial success, and parenting courses will be conducted for the parents. These sessions will take place on a weekly basis. Through our programming we will provide services to 50 at-risk youth and their parents.

Project: Youth Mentoring, Adult rehabilitation & Family Social Service

 

• Neighborhood revitalization efforts within the Vision communities.
• Youth guidance programs.
• Rehabilitation for the parents of the youth that are a part of the Vision Program. These parents must meet one of two criteria, having been incarcerated or adults who are at-risk below the poverty line in regard to Socio-Economic Status (SES).
• Dissemination of health care information and to promote healthy living within the Vision communities.
• Financial literacy (management) training while promoting home ownership.
• Career counseling and job training for local youth and adults.
• For a nonpublic, Non-elected schools advocate position to create a bridge between the community and the schools.
• Parenting education.
• Tutoring services and after school activities for youth and young adults.
• Mentor programs for children with emphasis on children of prisoners and people under the poverty level.
